Cheri Lamperes
Vocal Coach Cheri has been a resident of Fort Collins, Colorado since 1983 and involved in music since her childhood. She holds a degree in music from Colorado State University, and a certification in the European Costal Method of vocal pedagogy from the Colorado Academy of the Arts in Denver, where she spent 10 years under the tutelage of Dr. L. Scott Martin as a student and trainee. She has been teaching voice since 2008 and has attended several seminars and workshops on performance and live music production. The majority of Cheri's students sing contemporary music, but she teaches all genres of music with an emphasis on giving her students a complete understanding of the pharyngeal voice. Every genre is unique, and her voice students learn genre-specific techniques that best support their preferred musical style. She has worked with bands and students that tour nationally, and have opened for mainstream artists such as Brandi Carlile, Cake, and Fitz and the Tantrums. Cheri has been a performer all of her life, singing and performing in bands and musical theatre productions. She currently is a singer-songwriter in local music project "SnL" and in the local country band "Heart n Soul". Her goals are to encourage her students in their musical individuality, help them develop vocal technique for optimal health and longevity, and help them gain an understanding of how to approach the various vocal genres to become the most effective singers they can be. 60-minute individual sessions $80 Groups/Bands - hourly at your rehearsal location (additional fees apply for travel 30+ miles from GRMS studio location) |
