Music is present in so many aspects of our lives. It relaxes our minds, energizes our bodies, and can serve as a medium for processing our emotions.
Musical expression is as unique and personal as our individual tastes in music.
The mission of Get Real Music Studio is to develop comprehensive music skills in
its students through encouragement and discipline.
At GRMS, we respect each student's individuality and strive to help them develop the skills they need to sing and play the genre of music they are passionate about.
Piano: Piano provides the most thorough training in music. A pianist learns to play both melody and harmony. Piano trains the musician in both treble and bass clefs and provides a solid foundation in music theory.
"Can’t say enough about Cheri!
She’s especially helped me understand how theory applies to different kinds of music and how to think about composing my own music - while helping me work on my physical dexterity and ear training.
I’ve been a hobby musician since the early 90’s and had a lot of different music teachers and mentors off and on. Cheri has put the energy into understanding where I’m at, helps me fill the gaps in my understanding, helps me progress toward my goals, and makes every lesson fun:)
She’s easily the best teacher I’ve ever had!" -Joshua Hosterman

Cheri began her piano training at the age of five, and has more than thirty years of experience teaching piano. She received her Bachelors degree in music from Colorado State University. Rooted in classical training, her piano curriculum includes notation reading, chord symbols, and comprehensive music theory. She also enjoys teaching composition and songwriting.
While some music is selected within the curriculum to build a solid foundation of musical knowledge, students are encouraged to take the lead in the choice of the musical genre they are interested in playing. Students of all ages and abilities are welcome! |
